A 45-year-old man, Sikiru Adebayo, was on Thursday arraigned in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating his son to death.

Adebayo is facing a count charge of murder.

Adekunle said that the defendant flogged his son, Uthman Adebayo to death after the son stole a belt belonging to a neighbour.

The plea of the defendant was not taken.

The Magistrate, Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade, ordered remand of the defendant in police custody and amendment of the charge to reflect manslaughter as indicated by the DPP.
