Who else gets confused about Zodiac signs, the correlation and doubts its realness?
I see people relate it to their personality and can’t help but wonder if such traits aren’t in every other signs? If it is, what makes one sign different?
What’s special about Zodiac signs, are they accurate?
The signs of the zodiac have existed for hundreds of thousands of years, they are ancient signs that people have looked to for guidance.
Today, thousands of people inspect their horoscopes each day to find out what they are going to come up against in the world
The zodiac signs consist of 12 astrological signs, each based on a single month of the year. There are those who dismiss astrology as false, but the truth is that the signs of the zodiac do have some value to them.
Some people argue that the true value of astrology is its ability to tap into the part of our minds that naturally gravitates towards things like divination and the occult. By tapping into this inner meaning, it forces the mind to think in a different way. And this alone can generate some meaningful insights.
They say that astrology is about helping you to understand what you already know but we still cannot consider Zodiac Signs as being accurate or inaccurate. They just simply exist.
How closely Should You Follow the Zodiac?
Understand that astrology does have its limits, like any science. You shouldn’t look at the signs of the zodiac as a step-by-step guide for how to approach your life. If you do this, you are never going to take any initiative. It’s the same principle as religion. Never take your religious text literally. Use it as a guide in which to live your life.
Take into account what your horoscope says, but go further than that. Use it to further your knowledge of life in general. That’s how you can grow through using astrology.
To debunk the whole 12 zodiac signs, NASA added a brand new zodiac sign into the mix this year 2020 meaning that the dates might have definitely shifted on your star sign. There are actually 13 astrological signs instead of 12, meaning that 86 percent of all people were actually born under a different sign. However, the space agency would like everyone to know that they didn’t. Actually. Change. Anything.
“Here at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology, we didn’t change any zodiac signs we just did the math.” NASA then proceeds to explain that the former is a science that intelligent people devote their lives to, and the latter is hooey.
“Astrology is something else,” NASA says. “It’s not science. No one has shown that astrology can be used to predict the future or describe what people are like based on their birth dates.”
As NASA explain, no one has shown that astrology can be used to predict the future or describe what people are like based only on their birth date.”
They add that the zodiac is “not science” and that it simply offers comfort in a similar manner to “reading fantasy stories”.
There is no way billions of people on this earth can have the same personality and traits matching a sign. It’s just a coincidence if a trait is similar to yourself. Our brain can manipulate you into thinking its true. Ex. If your horoscope says you will have a bad day, your brain will constantly be expecting the worst and when anything slightly bad happens that you would normally dismiss you would blame it on your horoscope being “true”.
The Babylonians, NASA says, cheated a bit. The sun didn’t actually pass through each constellation for a consistent, month-long time span. It varied immensely. On top of that, the Babylonians knew there was a thirteenth constellation, Ophiuchus, but that wouldn’t have lined up with their calendar, so they just didn’t include it. Also, the sky has shifted because Earth’s axis has changed a bit over the course of 3,000 years.
The position of the Sun as it’s perceived from the revolving Earth passes through the constellations that formed the zodiac – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Zodiac signs were originally determined by which constellation the Sun was ‘in’ on the day we were born. But in the more than 3000 years since our zodiac system was invented, constellations have drifted and the sky has changed.
So while we might consider ourselves to be a well-balanced Libra, or a headstrong Aries, or a “total Gemini”, that is most likely not the case.
“The constellations are different sizes and shapes, so the Sun spends different lengths of time lined up with each one, the line from Earth through the Sun points to Virgo for 45 days, but it points to Scorpius for only 7 days. To make a tidy match with their 12-month calendar, the Babylonians ignored the fact that the Sun actually moves through 13 constellations, not 12” a spokesperson explained.
Here are the correct dates for the star signs:
Capricorn: Jan 20 – Feb 16
Aquarius: Feb 16 – March 11
Pisces: March 11 – April 18
Aries: April 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – June 21
Gemini: June 21 – July 20
Cancer: July 20 – Aug 10
Leo: Aug 10 – Sept 16
Virgo: Sept 16 – Oct 30
Libra: Oct 30 – Nov 23
Scorpio: Nov 23 – Nov 29
Ophiuchus: Nov 29 – Dec 17
Sagittarius: Dec 17 – Jan 20
Ophiuchus is considered a healer of men, a doctor of medicine, or a scientist who seeks higher education and enlightenment. He’s also an interpreter of dreams, favored by his father and other authority figures, and expected to achieve a high position in life.
The BBC previously speculated that ancient astrologers perhaps ignored Ophiuchus because they wanted to chart the 360 degree path of the Sun in a mathematically pleasing way of 12 equal parts, each one of 30 degrees. Whatever the reason, the unfamiliar constellation represents a man wrestling a serpent, dividing the snake’s body in two parts.
So what does it all mean? On the surface, may be based on the position of the sun relative to certain constellations – and it may be influenced by the movements of the sun, moon, planets and stars, too. However, astrology is absolutely not considered to be a ‘science’. Indeed, it’s been wholeheartedly rejected by the scientific community – with many pointing out that astrological predictions are too general, too unspecific to be subjected to scientific testing.
So, it boils down to who a person is, what you have decided your life is going to be and how it’s going to turn out.
