Al Nasr of Oman star, Eto Daniel, has called on Nigerians to pray for the Super Eagles ahead of the October 7 World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo of Zambia billed for Uyo.

Daniel, who starred for Rangers International of Enugu in the greater part of the just-concluded season before his move to Oman, where he tied a loan deal with one of the country’s top sides, said that what the national team needed now was the support and prayers of Nigerians as they aimed to play “the greatest match of their qualifiers for the World Cup.”

The former Enyimba of Aba forward, who said this, while chatting with INDEPENDENT, acknowledged the difficult nature of the match and urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to adequately motivate the players ahead of the task.

“They are going to play the greatest match of the qualifiers in October and we should all pray for the players to remain injury-free before and after the match.

“It is not going to be easy because Zambia also wants to go to the World Cup, so while Nigerians are fervently praying for the players, NFF should do everything to prepare them well and ensure that they are well motivated to get the needed result,” he said.

On his possibility of breaking into the Super Eagles Team A having previously been a member of the Home Eagles, the former U23 star said that he would not beg to be included in the mainstream national team, but rather said that his works would speak for him.

“I won’t beg to be included in the main Super Eagles. I will prefer that my work in my current club speak for me,” he said.
