The introduction of World Wide Web in 1990 brought about lots in the transition. Undoubtedly, the growth and increasing accessibility of the Internet has opened up a new world of opportunities from social networking to e-commerce to electronic currencies to pro-gaming and so on. But the world we live in has changed fast. Social conventions are different, entertainment is different, everything is affected by this not entirely new platform.
Newspapers are the most discussed victims of the new media landscape, but they are not the only victims of the new digital world. The way we listen to music and watch TV has also changed dramatically. With the influx of online streaming through apps like Netflix, YouTube and other social media platforms, the television got challenged and led to the introduction of digital TV but one day it would be extinct because online platforms now stream live events.
There is another question about the future of digital culture and its interaction with society. Will the incredibly fast growth of the last 10, 20 and 30 years go on in the future? Or will there be another dark age? It would be very surprising if the digital technology culture slows down because, whenever there is a market that will be used, the creation and introduction of new technologies will continue.
