Make Self-Care A Priority
Many people dismiss the idea of “self care” to think it’s an unaffordable luxury. It has become a buzz word over the years with no importance.
It should be a top priority and It’s not just locking yourself in or turning into an introvert, staying away from friends and family, or constant visit to spas and spending time in bubble baths, it’s a lot more than that.
Self-Care is about taking care and being aware of your physical, emotional, and mental health so you can be healthy and be your best self. Things are way harder now, standard of living is higher than the previous years, the economy is low, no increment in salaries, hustle is much more harder, living in Nigeria is enough reason why you need to pay attention to yourself.
This is why self-care in our current reality is important.
1. For better physical health:
You’re less likely to get Sich or experience any health issues when you take care of your body and pay attention to every detail.
Eat healthier and avoid junks, exercise as much as you can by jogging, visiting the gym counting your steps, If that place is not too far why not walk, do some light aerobics, get enough sleep, have siestas, and take break off work to relax and drink water. You can also take time to dance, You don’t have to visit the club or a party, enjoy yourself with music, slow dance and gyrate.
2. To improve your mental health:
The importance of taking care of our mental health is not talked about enough. To live well, one must keep in check his mental state of mind hence, the need of an improved mental health.
Self-care activities such as meditation, reading, journaling, talking and therapy can help you manage stress, anxiety, and depression.
Every morning, motivate yourself by saying positive things, say nice things to yoursef in the mirror, write positive things to yourself on post it, be confident, Forgive, don’t block emotions but rather feel them, hang out with friends, purge yourself, cry if you have to and hug anyone that gives you comfort.
Taking care of your emotional and mental well-being is as important as taking care of your physical health.
3. It increases productivity:
When you’re constantly exhausted and burned out from work you become less productive. Sooner or later you get tired of working or tired of the office or tired of doing anything. Try to take breaks, take a walk, drink water, listen to music and set boundaries from work, this will help you be more efficient and productive.
4. It will boosts your self-esteem:
When self-care is a priority it sends a message to yourself that you’re worthy of love and care. When you take care of your mental and physical health every other one becomes okay which can boost your self-esteem and help you feel more confident in your abilities.
Self-care is essential, it helps you become your best self.
