Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci holds Guinness world record for longest cooking hours

Hilda Effiong Bassey, A Nigerian chef popularly known as Hilda Baci, has beat the current Guinness World Record holder and is on her way to set a new record.

She began the competition on Thursday, 11 of May at 4pm and hopes to set her own record on Monday evening.

Nigerians have supported Hida Baci and are waiting on the Guinness World Record to officiallyention her feat as she displaces the current world record holder, Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who achieved the feat in 2019 with 87 hours 45 minutes record uninterrupted cooking.

Hilda who has had the support and cheer of the governor of Lagos state, quite of number of celebrities, hypemen, friends, fans and her mum has surpassed her earlier target of #96hrs and is now gunning for 100 hours before the end of the day.

 

 

 

 

Many people online have tweeted in support and trended her feat in support, currently, #Hida, #96hrs and #100hrs are trending on twitter.

The Guinness world breaker who prepared  more than 100 meals in 100-hours said on CNN, “Nigerian cuisine is the best out there. The more recipes are propagated, the more people will be willing to try it. Nigerian food is such comfort food.”

A spokesperson from Guinness World Records said: “We are aware of the record attempt and are loooking forward to receiving the evidence for our Records Management Team to review, before we can confirm the record is official.”

After all review are done we are hopeful that Hilda Baci’s revive the  title for longest cooking marathon (individual) which lasted for 100hrs in 5days with 55 recipes and more than 100 meals.
