 ENTOURAGE

I just found out there is an actual series for this, I thought it was just a movie I saw and that was it. Now just realizing it was one of the most popular TV shows inspired by the life Mark Wahlberg.  Starring Jerry Ferrar, Jeremy Piven, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon, The HBO series “Entourage” was actually based on his early experiences as a singer, actor and producer with his lifelong friends before he became a major Hollywood star.

Remember Ari Gold (Vince manager) in the movie, he was based on Mark’s real-life agent, Ari Emanuel.

This is an American anthology true crime television series, The first season of this show focuses on O.J. Simpson’s 1995 murder trial, he was accused and acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman.

Season two of “American Crime Story” explores the murder of the Italian fashion designer, Gianni Versace.

Season 2 of the show “Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story,” focused on the death of Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace at the hands of serial killer Andrew Cunanan. But his long term boyfriend, Antonio D’Amico told The Guardian that parts of the series were “ridiculous.”

“The picture of Ricky Martin holding the body in his arms is ridiculous,” he told the publication. “Maybe it’s the director’s poetic license, but that is not how I reacted.”

SEX AND THE CITY

This series has to be in my Top 5 of all time, Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha were my favorite single ladies in New York City.

Don’t be too shocked to know that they are based on a true life story.

Author Candace Bushnell revealed that her 1997 book, which led to an HBO series with the same name plus two films, was actually about her and her friends. Candace explained in an interview with ELLE that she came up with the alter ego Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) to hide her experiences from her ultra-conservative parents

THE TUDORS

Although not 100% historically accurate, the show was based on the life of England’s rebellious King Henry VIII.

The show toyed with the truth to keep viewers entertained.

However, certain aspects like Henry’s number of wives, his hand in murdering two of them as well as his decision to part from the Roman Catholic Church were absolutely true.

GLOW

Starring Alison Brie, this biopic is based on real women who rocked the wrestling ring in the mid-1980s.

 THE CROWN

Through this movie, I was able to get a hint of what it took Queen Elizabeth to become the queen.

The series which delved into 1940 starred actress Claire Foy as the monarch during the first two seasons and will star Olivia Colman as the queen in middle age for Seasons 3 and 4. This series explores what likely happened during real moments in Elizabeth’s life, including her 1947 wedding to Prince Philip and her 1953 coronation.

Although it may not be totally accurate but Netflix gave Viewers a look into the dramatic personal and political live of Queen Elizabeth

HAPPY TOGETHER

Starring Damon Wayans Jr., Amber Stevens and Felix Mallard, the show is about a happily married couple whose lives are turned upside down when an up-and-coming musician moves into their spare bedroom.

Inspired by actual true events when former One Direction singer-turned-actor Harry Styles lived in the attic of TV producer Ben Winston’s home for 18 months, preferring the comfort of a family unit to being alone in his mansion. The unusual arrangement led Harry and Ben to join forces as executive producers on the new series, which they claim is only loosely based on their experiences together.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

I was definitely addicted to OITNB but had no idea it was a memoir of Piper Kerman.

starring Taylor Schilling, the show depicts her time spent in a federal penitentiary for drug trafficking and has been an outlet for Piper’s humorous and raw observations inside the women’s correctional facility.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS

A sitcom that you can never get bored of watching on CW was inspired by comedian Chris Rock’s childhood in 1980s Brooklyn. The Tv adaptation blended a bit of fiction to it and It didn’t matter whether it was 100% accurate or not, it was very funny With Chris Rock as narrator on the show.

According to Chris, who served as a co-creator and producer on the series, many of the comical situations featured on the show really happened, but other aspects of his life were changed, including how many siblings he had. On the show, Chris only had a brother and sister, but in real life, he actually had six brothers and one sister.

SCANDAL

You should have seen my surprise to find out that Olivia pope, the main character in scandal was actually real! The Popular drama series was based on a real life fixer Judy Smith Played by actress Kerry Washington.

Olivia and her Pope worked with the nation’s elites to handle their PR crisis just as Judy Smith and her firm, Smith and Company did in real life for decades. Unlike the Judy, Olivia’s work focused on helping political leaders navigate scandals, Judy has also helped sports stars, TV personalities and actors repair their damaged images.
